New SSW Labyrinths to be Deducated New Year's Eve.

The original labyrinth was moved to make space for the new POB on the site. Volunteers reinstalled it and added another labyrinth of a different design to form an infinity symbol. Details are being finalized for an inaugural walk and celebrations. The public is invited and details will be made available soon. (12/30/08)

Dell Children’s Pediatric SKIN Bundle Recognized by NACHRI.

A study of Dell's PICU experience out of nine other participating children's hospitals was dramatically lower and related to the SKIN bundle, which dropped pressure ulcer incidence rates. NACHRI now refers to the practice as the Austin Effect. The study will be the focus of an article in the American Journal of Critical Care. (12/29/08)

Dr. Stephen Pont Assumes Responsibility for Dell Children's Childhood Obesity Program.

The community-focused program to address the diabetes risks of overweight children is applying for additional grant dollars and IRB approval for the obesity study. Our thanks to Dr. Rose Schneier for her leadership in initiating this program and helping to secure funding. (12/24/08)
